I'm excited to share what God has shown me earlier this week.
I bought "Twelve Ordinary Men" by John Mcarthur when it was on sale in church on sunday. As I read it, I saw how common these men were. They had many pitfalls recorded in the bible (Hey! I can see my shortcomings in them too). Yet they were faithful in doing the uncommon things that Jesus has called them to. Through these common men, Jesus rested his sure-hope of establishing his kingdom on earth. Woah! What a refreshing revelation for me.
Furthermore the myth of perfection is dispelled. That the grace of God gives me the freedom to fail(not license to fail) and the freedom succeed. So that His strength is made perfect in those who seeks not perfection (Heh... oxymoron) But to those who earnestly seeks him.
A day later the chorus of a hymn started auto-replaying(note: AUTO-REPLAY) in my mind:
He leadeth me, he leadeth me By His own hand he leadeth me His faithful follower I would be be For by his hand he leadeth me
I figured that the seemingly random song was loaded into my mind for some reason The next day I received a rejection email from a company which I was applying for. Ka-Ching! As Stuart reminded me when I informed him about my interview status When God closes a door, He opens a window.
Let's see...... how to conclude...... As I walk in the journey that God has laid out for me, Sometimes I get impatient and frustrated as to why can't he just put up a big-bright neon sign and say Look Here, This Way. But as I was reminded, Jesus brings his children through seasons/stages.
Went on a book shopping spree last saturday. Partly was for retail therapy. Completely incidental :P
Yup, there was a 20% discount in Kinos and Borders Furthermore it was the day before GST increase and NETS surcharge(gotta admit that these are excuses)
Thankfully, it was quite a controlled shopping spree as I ONLY bought 5 books
From Kinos: The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief (Francis Collins)
Christ is most glorified when I am most satisfied in Him
God does not just use the qualified, He qualifies a person for his task
By His own hand He leadeth me
